Alcoa recognized for environmental stewardship
Alcoa was named one of Brazil’s model companies for sustainable development by Exame Magazine’s Sustainability Guide 2012, Brazil’s largest and most respected publication which focuses on sustainability practices and corporate responsibility. Alcoa has been recognized for environmental stewardship in Brazil four years in a row.
The annual guide selects and recognizes 20 companies for their sustainable actions. “For Alcoa, it makes us proud to be part of such a select group of companies. This work exemplifies the commitment our employees have to sustainable development,” said Frank Feder, Alcoa’s Regional CEO, Alcoa Latin America & Caribbean.
Alcoa is the leading producer of primary and fabricated aluminum in the world and is also the world’s largest miner of bauxite and refiner of alumina. (November 30, 2012)
