Alcoa now a member of the International Charter for Sustainable Transportation
Alcoa announced that its Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products (AWTP) business is now a member of the Sustainable Development Charter of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP). The UITP is an organization with a 125-year history and has an international network for public transport. UITP is also a global advocate of sustainable mobility and the organization also promotes innovations in the transportation sector.
The Sustainable Development Charter of the UITP is specifically geared towards increasing awareness of the importance of sustainability within the transportation sector. The Charter has more than 150 global members who commit to monitor, measure and report on their own sustainability performance, and at the same time share their best practices with the other Charter members.
