Agriculture sees boost from biodiesel

A 305-hectare crop of oilseed rape in the Waihopai Valley could potentially provide a boost for the agriculture sector in Marlborough, says Biodiesel New Zealand General Manager Andrew Simcock. The oilseed in the Waihopai Valley was planted in spring and is now in the mid-stages of flowering, with full flower expected soon. Harvest will take place in February, once the crop dies and dries.
