ACCC identifies issues with Caltex, Exxon terminal deal

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC), Australia’s competition watchdog, said that it has identified competition issues with Caltex’s proposed acquisition of ExxonMobil’s share of a jointly owned fuel terminal at the port of Gladstone in Queensland state. In particular, the regulator said it is concerned the deal will impede effective entry by independent fuel suppliers into the Gladstone region. (December 2, 2010)
