7-Eleven to acquire ExxonMobil outlets in 51 Texas sites

7-Eleven, Inc. will acquire ExxonMobil’s retail interests in 51 North Texas sites in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) area in the United States. The stations will keep the Exxon gasoline brand, but majority of the sites will be re-branded as 7-Eleven stores. “This acquisition fits well with our aggressive growth strategy,” said Sean Duffy, 7-Eleven vice presidents of mergers and acquisitions. “In terms of store growth, 2011 promises to be 7-Eleven’s biggest year since 1986.” The transaction is expected to be finalized in late 2011 and the new stores will be available for franchising. 7-Eleven, Inc. now operates and franchises 339 stores in the greater DFW and Austin areas of Texas.(August 17, 2011)
