Joseph Berquist appointed CEO of Quaker Houghton
Quaker Houghton, the global leader in industrial process fluids, has announced the appointment of Joseph Berquist as its new chief executive officer and president. Berquist, who takes over from Andy Tometich, has also been named to the company’s Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Berquist, a veteran of Quaker Houghton with more than 25 years of experience, has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth and strategic initiatives. His career milestones include overseeing the successful integration of the 2019 merger between Quaker Chemical and Houghton International, nearly doubling the company’s size and achieving USD80 million in synergies. As chief commercial officer since 2023, Berquist has led global operations and commercial strategies.

Michael F. Barry, chairman of the Board, praised Berquist’s leadership, citing his deep industry knowledge and proven track record. “Joe has demonstrated exceptional vision and passion for this industry. His leadership will drive Quaker Houghton’s mission of innovation and sustainable growth,” Barry said.
Outgoing CEO Tometich was also acknowledged for his three years of leadership, during which he helped position the company for future growth.
