Intertek Group plc announces new chairman effective January 1
Andrew Martin will succeed Sir David Reid as chairman of the Board of Intertek Group plc effective 1 January 2021. Reid will retire as chairman and non-executive director effective 31 December 2020, after serving on Intertek’s Board for nine years.
Intertek is a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide. With a network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices and more than 44,000 people in more than 100 countries, Intertek delivers innovative and bespoke Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions.

Andy has substantial board and wide-ranging business experience from an impressive executive and non-executive career covering a number of large international organisations and has extensive knowledge of Intertek,” Reid said.
Martin joined the Board of Intertek as an independent non-executive director on 26 May 2016. He is currently non-executive chairman of Hays plc and and a non-executive director of the John Lewis Partnership, and was previously a non-executive director of easyjet plc. He is a qualified accountant and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Upon being appointed chairman, Martin will chair the Nomination Committee, step down as chair of the Audit Committee and cease to be a member of the Remuneration Committee. Jean-Michel Valette will be appointed chair of the Audit Committee effective January 2021.
