Infineum’s China Business Technology Centre Laboratory receives ISO accreditation

Infineum’s China Business and Technology Centre (CBTC) Laboratory has been awarded ISO/IEC17025:2005 testing laboratory management system accreditation, the company announced. ISO17025 is an international standard for testing and calibration of laboratories. Test results issued by accredited laboratories are recognised by many organisations worldwide.

This accreditation signifies that the Infineum CBTC Laboratory has reached international leading industry level in its management, quality control, testing technology and other aspects. It also indicates the laboratory’s competence in providing testing and calibration services according to internationally recognised standards and its progress in continually strengthening its competency and management while enhancing its market competitiveness.

As an additive joint venture between ExxonMobil and Shell, Infineum, which is based in the UK, is one of the world’s top producers of petroleum additives for lubricant and fuel additives.

Infineum CBTC Laboratory, located in Jingqiao Office Park in Pudong, Shanghai, China, has strictly complied with ISO17025 requirements for operation and testing since its establishment in 2014. Using world-class advanced equipment and apparatus, relying on the criteria of international leading quality systems, Infineum carries out testing on lubricants’ physical and chemical performance in accordance with applicable international standards.

“This is the first time that a company in the lubricant additive industry has been awarded the ISO17025 certificate in the Asia Pacific Region. Now, our laboratory is equipped with internationally recognised standards to carry out high-quality testing services that generate accurate and reliable data,” said Infineum China CTS/PD Manager Mei Yu. “This is a great recognition of the improvement of our laboratory management and testing capabilities.”

In addition, the Infineum Zhangjiagang plant received ISO9001:2008 certification for its quality management systems earlier this year. It represents that the Zhangjiagang plant, which has integrated world-class management systems into all areas of its operations, is fully capable of delivering a reliable supply of high-quality products that meet all regulatory requirements, as well as customers’ stringent demand.
