Infineum to open additive blending facility in India by 2025

UK-based Infineum has announced plans to build an additive blending facility in India, reinforcing its commitment to one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive markets. 

The facility, scheduled for completion in March 2025, will begin trial production mid-year, with full-scale operations expected by the third quarter. Production capacity was not disclosed.

Infineum’s India Country Head S.K. Raghuram shared these details during the company’s 25th anniversary celebrations in Jaipur, India. The new site will blend sulfonate and salicylate additive packages, which are used in automotive lubricant formulations to enhance engine performance, improve durability, and meet regulatory standards.

Infineum’s entry into India which began in 2017 with the opening of an office, intensifies its competition with other industry players drawn to the region’s booming vehicle market and rising demand for high-performance lubricants.

The new additive blending facility underscores Infineum’s regional strategy, offering a localised production model amid global supply chain disruptions. With existing manufacturing hubs in the U.S., Brazil, Germany, Italy, Singapore, and China, Infineum’s Indian expansion signifies a strategic shift towards regional flexibility and sustainable technologies for the automotive lubricant supply chain.
