Infineum releases sustainability report 2023, exceeds targets
Infineum, a leading specialty chemicals company headquartered in the UK, has released its fourth annual sustainability report for 2023, highlighting the company’s significant strides in sustainable practices and its commitment to creating a sustainable future through innovative chemistry.
In a milestone achievement, Infineum surpassed its 2025 sustainability volunteering target ahead of schedule, with 28% of its employees engaging in volunteer activities, exceeding the initial goal of 25%. The company also reported that 62% of its supplier spend is now covered by sustainability assessments, demonstrating its dedication to responsible sourcing.
The release of the sustainability report coincides with the celebration of Infineum’s 25th anniversary. Formed in 1999 as a joint venture between Shell and Exxon Mobil, the company has recently restructured into two focused business units: Sustainable Transportation and Energy Applications. This strategic move aims to better address the evolving demands of the market and support the global transition to a low-carbon economy.
Infineum CEO Aldo Govi expressed pride in the company’s progress, stating, “As Infineum celebrates 25 years of operations and we look forward to the next 25 years of progress towards our net zero ambition by 2050, I am pleased to share our fourth annual sustainability report. We remain focused on our vision to become a sustainable world-class specialty chemicals company. Sustainability was at the core of reshaping Infineum to better enable us to contribute to sustainable mobility and the transition to a low-carbon economy”
The company also launched a revamped corporate website to better represent its capabilities and diversification into new markets. The updated site serves as a comprehensive resource for stakeholders, showcasing Infineum’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
