IMCD opens new microbiology laboratory in Indonesia for global support

IMCD, a leading global distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients, has announced the inauguration of its cutting-edge microbiology laboratory in Jakarta, Indonesia. This new facility will play a key role in supporting both global and local product development projects, offering expertise in microbiology across various industries, including life sciences and industrial applications.

The state-of-the-art laboratory is equipped with advanced testing capabilities and houses more than 29 culture collections. It features dedicated spaces for inoculation, incubation, and analysis, enabling in-depth testing of bacteria, fungi, and algae. The aim is to help customers enhance product quality, improve shelf life, and ensure the microbiological safety of their formulations.

The IMCD Preservatives and Biocides Academy will also be based at the new laboratory, serving as a centre of excellence where customers and experts can expand their knowledge of microbiology and preservative technologies. Additional services include plant hygiene audits and preventive measures to maintain manufacturing environments free from microbial contamination.
