HIF Global, ENEOS forge partnership to boost eFuels production
On October 4, 2023, HIF Global, a leading eFuels company, and ENEOS, Japan’s top petroleum refiner, announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the production and sale of carbon-neutral eFuels in Japan. The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions, marking a significant stride in the global effort to reduce carbon emissions.
The alliance is set to leverage HIF’s extensive portfolio of eFuels developments across South America, the United States, and Australia. eFuels, produced by harnessing renewable energy to power electrolysers, offer a sustainable alternative, marking a pivotal step in the transition towards a carbon-neutral future.
Cesar Norton, CEO of HIF Global, expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential to meet the growing demand for eFuels in sophisticated markets. With ongoing projects and an expanding portfolio, HIF is poised to contribute significantly to global decarbonisation efforts.
Kotaro Sunaga, ENEOS’ senior vice president, highlighted the collaboration’s alignment with the company’s long-term vision of balancing energy supply stability and carbon neutrality. The partnership with HIF is expected to catalyse ENEOS’ initiatives in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting renewable energy.
The cooperation extends beyond eFuels supply, encompassing the exploration of a carbon dioxide supply chain and the potential development of production facilities in Japan. These facilities will focus on the conversion of eMethanol to eGasoline or jet fuel, amplifying the impact of the partnership in the sustainable energy landscape.
