GS Caltex launches engine oils compatible with India’s BS VI norms

GS Caltex India, a subsidiary of South Korea’s GS Caltex Corporation, unveiled its range of Bharat Stage (BS) VI compatible engine oil products. Available under the brand name Kixx, these engine oils were formulated to meet the stringent requirements of India’s new BS VI emission norms. These engine oils are based on advanced additives technology to deliver excellent protection and superior performance when used in BS VI-compliant vehicles, including passenger cars and motorcycles.

GS Caltex India managing director and CEO Rajesh Nagar said, “We at GS Caltex India, have been at the forefront in launching products which meet the latest requirements of the market. It has been our constant endeavor to work on improving and upgrading our product portfolio as per the latest norms to offer superior customer experience. It gives us immense pleasure in launching the new upgraded BS VI lubricants along with some new products for new generation vehicles.” 

These oils have an advantage of being backward compatible meaning they can be used as well on older generation BS III or BS IV vehicles. 

In addition, GS Caltex also introduced two fully synthetic passenger car engine oils to its product line, Kixx PAO 1 and Kixx G1 Synthetic Power. 

Kixx PAO 1 uses polyalpha olefin (PAO) for its base fluid. It is optimised to provide ultimate performance and complete engine protection, thus maximising engine life and lower oil consumption. Its high viscosity index and good low-temperature fluidity help contribute to component protection across a wide temperature range.

Kixx G1 Synthetic Power is suitable for high-performance engines fitted with DOHC, EFI, VVT, and diesel engines with CRDI. It is optimised to provide complete engine oil performance, especially fuel efficiency, by reducing friction and enhancing durability.

The company is also launching fully synthetic motorcycle engine oil Kixx Ultra 4T Synthetic. The fully synthetic motorcycle engine oil is formulated with advanced additives technology to deliver excellent performance in modern vehicles meeting BS VI norms. It is also suitable for all motorcycle engines, both carburetor and fuel injected where API SN or below and JASO MA and MA 2 are recommended.

GS Caltex has also revamped the packaging of its motorcycle and passenger car engine oils.
