GRC brings TotalEnergies bio-fluid into immersion cooling program

Data centre cooling firm Green Revolution (GRC) has added a bio-derived dielectric fluid from TotalEnergies to its ElectroSafe partner program for qualifying liquid coolants.

The collaboration lets GRC integrate and optimise TotalEnergies’ DC Cooling BioLife product within immersion solutions deployed across 22 countries currently. Assessments will gauge factors like materials performance and thermal efficiency using GRC’s proprietary protocol.

DC Cooling BioLife is produced from circular economy feedstocks. It touts high heat transfer abilities with minimal viscosity loss alongside biodegradability and dramatically fewer lifecycle emissions versus hydrocarbon-based alternatives.

“BioLife’s sustainability focus lets our most environmentally conscious customers obtain advanced data centre functionality without compromising their carbon commitments,” said GRC Chief Product Officer Ben Smith.

As high-performance computing capacity escalates in facilities worldwide, dielectric immersion promises to curb exponential energy demands by eliminating chillers and air handling. Total and GRC’s joint initiative broadens options for high-density cooling buyers eyeing next-generation workloads.
