FUCHS Group completes acquisition of LUBCON Group

FUCHS Group, the world’s largest “independent” lubricants company based in Mannheim, Germany, has finalised its acquisition of the LUBCON Group, a renowned manufacturer of high-performance specialty lubricants. This strategic move enhances FUCHS’ product portfolio and market presence, particularly in industrial lubricants and greases.

The LUBCON Group, headquartered in Maintal, Hesse, Germany, brings decades of expertise in developing, manufacturing, and distributing high-quality lubricants used across various sectors, including railways, roller bearings, paper, textiles, food, pharmaceuticals, and wind energy. In 2023, LUBCON generated sales revenues of approximately EUR40 million (USD43.2 million) with its 13 operating companies, five production sites, and more than 200 employees.

The acquisition, initially announced on April 22, 2024, and now complete after receiving necessary approvals, positions FUCHS to enhance its global competitiveness and expand into new markets. The integration of LUBCON’s highly qualified team and advanced technologies will bolster FUCHS’ capabilities and market reach, ensuring continued innovation and growth.

FUCHS operates in more than 50 countries, with 6,200 employees. In 2023, the company generated revenues of EUR3.5 billion (USD3.8 billion) with 33 production sites and 55 operating companies.
