FUCHS elevates Reister to deputy chair of Executive Board

In a strategic move, FUCHS SE, a global leader in lubrication solutions, has announced the appointment of Dr. Timo Reister as the deputy chairman of its Executive Board. This significant appointment, effective from January 1, 2024, marks a key step in the company’s long-term succession planning.

Reister, 44, has been an integral part of FUCHS since joining in 2009. With a background in business administration and a doctorate, he has significantly contributed to the company’s growth and expansion. Initially responsible for the OEM and specialty business in the United States and FUCHS Mexico, Reister’s expertise was further honed during his tenure in China from 2014, where he led the Asia-Pacific region as a member of the Group Management Committee. His deep understanding of FUCHS’ critical foreign markets has been instrumental in shaping the company’s global strategy.

Today, Reister oversees the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions, along with three global sales divisions: OEM, Automotive Aftermarket, and Mining. His diverse experience and proven leadership skills make him an ideal choice for this elevated role.

Dr. Christoph Loos, chairman of the Supervisory Board of FUCHS SE, expressed his confidence in Reister’s abilities, stating, “The appointment is a testament to his outstanding achievements and a crucial part of our Executive Board’s long-term succession planning. We are delighted to secure his long-term commitment to our company.”

CEO Stefan Fuchs, 55, echoed these sentiments, praising Reister’s impressive track record at FUCHS. “He embodies the FUCHS DNA, combining professional expertise with remarkable social skills,” said Fuchs.

The Executive Board’s composition remains unchanged with this new appointment. Alongside Stefan Fuchs and Reister, the board includes Isabelle Adelt, CFO, Dr. Sebastian Heiner, CTO, and Dr. Ralph Rheinboldt, responsible for the EMEA region (Europe, Africa, and Middle East) and the Industry and Specialties divisions.

Founded in 1931 in Mannheim, Germany, as a family business, FUCHS has grown into the world’s largest independent supplier of lubricants. The company caters to a wide range of industries and applications, driven by a commitment to perfection and customer-centric innovation. With more than 6,000 employees across more than 50 countries, FUCHS generated a revenue of EUR3.4 billion (USD3.6 billion) in 2022, operating 34 production sites and 56 companies globally.
