TPC Group names new VP of operations from ranks

TPC Group has appointed John Harvey III as senior vice president of operations, overseeing all production assets and environmental health and safety efforts.

Harvey initially joined TPC Group in May 2021 as the Houston plant manager. Since 2021, he has driven major improvements in reliability, capacity, emissions and security through operating discipline and execution.

TPC Group President and CEO Ed Dineen said Harvey has delivered a “step change” in plant operations via his expertise and focus on continuous enhancement. His promotion sets operational excellence standards across the organization.

Harvey brings more than 40 years of experience at petrochemical facilities and biorefineries, including leadership roles with BP, Elevance Renewable Sciences and other firms. He will guide strategies and performance for TPC Group’s C4 hydrocarbon processing plants in Texas and Louisiana.

TPC Group supplies rubber, fuels, surfactants and specialty chemicals markets from its strategically located Gulf Coast facilities. Operational consistency and sustainability are crucial for maintaining product flows to diverse customer industries.

Harvey is a graduate and distinguished alumnus of the University of Tulsa in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.
