Timothy Brown named CEO at American Refining Group Inc.

BRADFORD, Pa. – The American Refining Group Inc. (ARG) Board of Directors announced Timothy Brown has been named Harry Halloran’s successor as the company’s chief executive officer.

Prior to the board’s announcement, Brown had been serving as ARG’s executive vice president and chief strategy officer. As CEO, Brown will be responsible for forging a business plan that fosters growth and ensures the long-term success of ARG and the Bradford refinery.

Brown has been employed with American Refining Group since 1999 holding a variety of sales- and marketing-related positions. In 2008, Brown was appointed to the vice president of sales position. Brown has more than 20 years of experience in the lubricant and petroleum industries. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University.

Halloran will continue to work with the company in his role as executive chairman of the board, providing guidance and oversight as he transitions the business to the next generation of the Halloran family.

ARG’s unique facility is situated on approximately 131 acres in Bradford, Pennsylvania, the heart of McKean County and the birthplace of the U.S. domestic oil industry more than 130 years ago. The refinery has a rated capacity of 11,000 barrels per day and processes light, sweet, paraffinic crude. This type of crude is available domestically, and ARG purchases the majority of its crude from sources in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and West Virginia.

ARG stocks are converted into high-quality waxes, lubricant base oils, gasoline and fuels, as well as a wide variety of specialty products. American Refining Group’s state-of-the-art blending and packaging facilities are capable of producing a full spectrum of finished lubricant products. These products are available in a broad range of package sizes, including bulk, and can be delivered either by rail or truck.
