The Middle East Catalyst Community to gather in Bahrain
On 6-7 December in Bahrain, the Middle East catalyst community will come together at Euro Petroleum Consultants’ ME-CAT – Middle East Catalyst Technology Conference, to network and share insights on how to maximise success through catalyst innovations.
The global catalyst market is booming and is forecast to reach 33 billion USD a year by 2018. Ongoing developments in refining, petrochemicals and chemicals as well as the influence of environmental factors are increasing the demand for higher performance catalysts, therefore providing opportunities for catalyst producers to introduce enhanced products to meet this increasing demand.
Stefan Chapman, Vice President of Euro Petroleum Consultants says “Catalytic processes are at the heart of all refineries and petrochemical complexes. With the recent drive for increased integration, the number of units using modern catalysts has increased significantly. The right catalyst solution can improve margins, achieve better product quality, higher yields and longer cycle lengths – all this with relatively small investment.”
Research by EPC has shown that the refining catalyst markets in North America, Western Europe and Japan are maturing, although the continued introduction of new catalysts will sustain a growth. Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa are the developing markets with the highest growth rates offering great opportunities for new business. Stefan adds “With these opportunities in mind, we launched our series of Catalyst Conferences this year in Asia and the Middle East to provide a platform for our clients to discuss and debate the market trends, new developments and innovations in the sector.”
The conference will take place under the Patronage of H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, with the support of the National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) and Bapco.
Sponsored by ExxonMobil, Axens, Grace and Advanced Refining Technologies (ART), the conference is rich in technical content providing catalyst specialists with a forum to learn about the latest developments from the leading technology and catalyst providers combined with extensive networking opportunities.
