Patrick Nation to lead Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions as president

Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions Inc. (Ergon A&E), headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, U.S.A., announced the appointment of Patrick Nation as its new president, effective from January 1, 2024. He will succeed Baxter Burns, the current president, who is set to retire.

Originating from Clinton, Mississippi, U.S.A., Nation began his journey with Ergon A&E in 1999, taking on the role of an area sales manager in Alabama. Over the years, he climbed the corporate ladder, holding various positions, including general manager of Ergon Armor and senior vice president of Sales, Marketing & Supply. ErgonArmor, a division of Ergon, Inc., provides advanced solutions in the form of corrosion-resistant linings, coatings, flooring, and containment systems.

Nation’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration, both from Mississippi College. His active participation in industry associations is noteworthy. He served on the board of the Foundation for Pavement Preservation and held significant roles in the Asphalt Institute, notably as chair in 2022.

Expressing his gratitude for the new role, Nation said, “I am honored to lead Ergon A&E into its next chapter. Our mission remains clear: to provide innovative resources that propel people forward.”

In addition to his presidential duties, Nation will oversee the Pavement & Coating Resources business segment.
