
Matthias Dohrn to head BASF’s Global Procurement division
The Board of Executive Directors of German chemical company BASF SE announced that Matthias Dohrn, 48, will assume responsibility for the Global Procurement division, based in Ludwigshafen, Germany, as of January 1, 2023.
Dohrn is currently responsible for the Battery Base Metals & Recycling unit and succeeds Stefano Pigozzi, 59, who will retire effective December 31, 2022. Prior to this position, he was senior vice president, Precious Metal Services, BASF Corporation, based in Iselin, New Jersey, U.S.A. (2017), and vice president, Procurement Controlling, for BASF SE in Ludwigshafen, Germany (2012). He was also posted in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2007 as chief financial officer of South Africa and Sub Sahara for BASF Services South Africa Ltd.
Dohrn studied Economics at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and completed his doctorate in Economics at the Leibniz University Hannover in 2004.
