Major ASTM aviation turbine fuels standard now available in Spanish

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., December 21, 2015—This week, ASTM International released a Spanish-language version of a crucial aviation fuels standard. Since 1959, the world’s aviation community has used this aviation turbine fuel standard (D1655, Specification for Aviation Turbine Fuels) as one of the global pillars for
ensuring quality control and safe distribution of jet fuel.

D1655 provides direction for testing and specifying aviation fuel products used in commercial and general aviation. ASTM Committee D02 has continuously adapted the standard to changes in technology.

D1655 is recognized in more than 25 countries, including nine in which Spanish is the primary language: Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Paraguay. Five of these Spanish-speaking nations use D1655 as the basis for their national aviation fuel standard.
