KRAHN Chemie unifies operations in Spain, rebrands subsidiary

Taking a further step towards an internationally unified brand presence, KRAHN Chemie Deutschland GmbH, an independent chemical distributor based in Hamburg, Germany, has rebranded its Spanish subsidiary to KRAHN Iberia S.L.

Last year, KRAHN Chemie, part of the family-owned Otto Krahn Group, announced multiple acquisitions in the UK, Sweden and Spain. Included in these acquisitions was Pemco-Trigueros Additives Spain S.L., Alicante, which distributes additives and base oils in Spain.

Previously, the activities of KRAHN Chemie in the Iberian Peninsular were handled by the Spanish sales office of a sister company ALBIS. Based on KRAHN Chemieโ€™s new growth strategy, this activity has been integrated into Pemco Trigueros, which is now a full-fledged subsidiary dedicated to serving KRAHN Chemie customers on the Iberian Peninsula.

“Forming KRAHN Iberia is an exciting milestone. Our local Managing Director Josรฉ Manuel Trigueros is very experienced in the industry and his knowledge of the local needs is key for our presence there. We see a lot of potential and are committed to invest in a setup that serves our producers and customers in Spain and Portugal best,” says Dr. Rolf Kuropka, managing director of KRAHN Chemie GmbH.

“We are pleased to be a part of the KRAHN Chemie Group also by name, now. The new setup expanded our product range and by being part of the group, customers in Spain and Portugal will also benefit from extended services,” says Trigueros.

In 2019, the KRAHN Chemie group achieved a turnover of approximately EUR225 million (USD272 million) and currently employs a staff of 190. The company has subsidiaries or local sales teams in Benelux, France, Italy, Poland, Greece, Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain and China.

The Otto Krahn Group is represented in more than 30 countries. In the 2019 financial year, the Otto Krahn Group employed a total of around 1,600 people and its global turnover was EUR1.3 billion (USD1.5 billion).
