Jennifer Morris joins Growth Energy as vice president of communications and public affairs

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 9, 2018 – Growth Energy announced today that Jennifer Morris has joined the organization as its Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs. In this new role, Morris will oversee Growth Energy’s communications and public affairs initiatives in service of biofuel producers and supporters across the United States. Morris previously served as Senior Vice President of Corporate and Public Affairs at Edelman.

“The biofuels industry is a shining example of a true American success story,” said Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor. “One of our main directives at Growth Energy is to effectively communicate that success story – whether it be to policymakers, consumers, members, or other industry stakeholders – in a way that truly moves the needle for biofuels. Jennifer’s diverse mix of experience and expertise is just what we need to be the tip of the spear in communicating ethanol’s value to a wide range of key audiences. She has a stellar track record of being an effective communicator in both the political and corporate worlds, and we are thrilled to add her to the Growth Energy team.”

Morris joins Growth Energy from Edelman, a leading global communications marketing firm, where she had extensive experience overseeing corporate and public affairs accounts, shaping narratives on key issues, and building and maintaining brands. Prior to Edelman, Morris was the Head of Global Public Affairs and Financial Literacy for Visa, Inc., and has previous communications experience on Capitol Hill.

“Growth Energy sits at the center of an extremely dynamic industry and there is a great opportunity to define the value biofuels bring to consumers, government, and producers,” said Morris. “I am eager to build on Growth Energy’s successes through a robust communications program which expands interest in ethanol to new audiences while continuing to engage our passionate supporters.”

Morris holds an undergraduate degree from Tulane University and a Masters of Public Administration from the American University School of Public Affairs.
