Infineum Singapore’s Jurong Island Plant awarded the Ministry of Manpower Workplace Safety and Health Performance Award 2011 Excellence Award (1996-2010)

Infineum Singapore Pte. Ltd. was awarded the Singapore Ministry of Manpower’s Workplace Safety and Health Excellence Award in July 2011. This is the 13th consecutive year (1999-2010) that Infineum has the honour of winning this highest accolade for workplace safety and health. It is also the 15th year in succession that Infineum have won awards from the Ministry for workplace safety and health (1997-1998 Gold Award, 1999-2011 Excellence Award).

Infineum is also recognised as Mentor in the BizSafe Program. The Mentor status is the highest level awarded to only six companies last year in Singapore. Infineum helped to mentor other companies to achieve the BizSafe award from Levels 1 to 3.

Infineum has a strong global culture emphasizing health, safety and environment (HSE) excellence. In fact, we have a very comprehensive Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) to ensure that HSE awareness and practices are given top priority in the organization.

Employee participation is highly encouraged, and safety has become a way of life. Colleagues are encouraged to :
o report potential hazards and taking action to mitigate the hazards;
o intervene any colleague or contractor who displays at-risk behavior and praise good safety behavior;
o conduct Joint employee and contractor safety and housekeeping inspection; and many others.

Infineum Singapore recently celebrated its 20th Safe Year without a Lost Time Injury achieved on 5th May. Mr Lim Tau Chen, Plant Manager of Infineum Singapore Pte. Ltd. says ,” We are proud to be presented with this award for the 13th consecutive year.

It is indeed an honor to be recognized for good safety management practices by the Ministry of Manpower. I’d like to share this achievement with our colleagues and contractors as we recognise their contributions in maintaining a safe working environment.”
