Heritage-Crystal Clean expands with Envirosafe acquisition

Heritage-Crystal Clean, Inc., a prominent player in parts cleaning, waste management, and environmental services, announced the acquisition of Envirosafe Services of Ohio, Inc., headquartered in Oregon, Ohio, U.S.A. This strategic move significantly bolsters Crystal Clean’s service capabilities and infrastructure.

Heritage-Crystal Clean, Inc. provides a wide range of environmental and industrial services, catering to various sectors including vehicle maintenance, manufacturing, utilities, and governmental entities. Their services encompass parts cleaning, waste management, used oil collection and re-refining, emergency response, and antifreeze recycling, among others.

The acquisition integrates Envirosafe’s fully permitted hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facility into Crystal Clean’s network. With both federal and state Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) permits, the facility is equipped to handle nearly 600 different U.S. EPA waste codes, marking a considerable enhancement to Crystal Clean’s hazardous waste management services.

Brian Recatto, president and CEO of Crystal Clean, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, noting, “The addition of Envirosafe strengthens our infrastructure with a key facility that enhances our hazardous waste processing capabilities. This expansion aligns with our vision to help the business world run cleaner and brings added value to our expanding customer base.”

Expanded reach and services

With this acquisition, Crystal Clean extends its operations to more than 120 service branches, industrial facilities, and waste recovery centers across the continental U.S. The company’s comprehensive services now include a state-of-the-art oil re-refinery, multiple wastewater treatment and non-hazardous waste processing facilities, several antifreeze recovery centers, and the newly added hazardous waste treatment facility.
