Chevron Oronite to present at ILMA 2017 annual meeting

San Ramon, CA (September 26, 2017) – Gary Parsons, global OEM and industry liaison manager; and Teri Crosby, global automotive product line manager, both with Chevron Oronite, will be presenting at the ILMA 2017 Annual Meeting. Parsons will be participating on an industry panel discussion on Monday, October 16 at 11 a.m., which will focus on Mobility Trends and Impacts on the Lubricants Industry. Crosby will be giving a presentation titled Globalization of the Engine Oil Market – Identifying Growth Opportunities, on Monday, October 16 at 1:45 p.m.

“In recent years, the passenger car market has become more global and new engine technologies are often introduced in many markets simultaneously,” said Crosby. “There are several reasons why globalization has taken place. First, many countries have implemented fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions legislation which require more sophisticated engine and after-treatment systems. Second, the consumer has become more demanding regarding performance and fuel economy. Third, to meet those demands and to provide economy of scale, the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) offer common car-and- engine platforms across markets. As a result, higher performing engine oils are now needed in all markets to serve the needs of the new engine technologies. In this presentation, we will discuss the growth of passenger car engine oil markets and the penetration of ILSAC GF-5 and GM’s dexos oils, which are growth opportunities for ILMA members who export to other countries.”

The ILMA 2017 Annual Meeting is being held October 14-17 in Orlando, FL. This year’s theme will focus on Shifting Gears – Innovating for the Future.
