Chevron Oronite OLOA® 55501 is GF-5 and dexos1® approved
26 July 2011 – SAN RAMON, CA – Chevron Oronite recently announced that OLOA® 55501, its commercially available additive for passenger car motor oil (PCMO) which meets or exceeds ILSAC GF-5 and API SN requirements, is now dexos1® approved.
“The dexos1 specification tests were rigorous and designed by GM to enhance engine protection,” said Victor Shen, Americas Region Automotive Market Manager – Chevron Oronite. “We are proud that we not only passed the tests, but are now able to offer a single product that meets or exceeds both ILSAC GF-5 and dexos1 standards. Our product was formulated to be versatile, flexible and to provide logistical simplification for customers; OLOA 55501 delivers that and more.”
GM dexos1 approved OLOA 55501 now offers (1) the simplicity and logistical cost savings that come from a single product that meets or exceeds both GF-5 and dexos1 specifications, (2) a very competitive treat rate, and (3) expanded base oil coverage.
“Our customers appreciate the performance and versatility that OLOA 55501 provides,” said Gerald Shaw, Americas Region Automotive Product Line Manager – Chevron Oronite. “In an increasingly complex and competitive environment, having one product that addresses multiple specifications is a real advantage. Combining that performance and flexibility with a favorable treat rate is what really sets OLOA 55501 apart from competitive products.”
