Chevron Oronite announces availability of OLOA® 61005, a new heavy duty package

1 March 2012 – Chevron Oronite announced today that it is introducing OLOA® 61005, its new additive package designed for SAE 10W-40 and SAE 10W-30 semi-synthetic oil formulations for heavy-duty trucks.

“The OLOA 61005 lubricant additive is our latest heavy duty offering, and is designed to help improve fuel economy,” says Emmanuelle Faure-Birchem, Europe-Africa-Middle East Region Sales Service Manager, Chevron Oronite. OLOA 61005 is formulated together with Oronite’s latest generation viscosity index improver

This very concentrated additive is recommended for highly-rated diesel engines meeting the latest emission standards, especially the Euro IV and Euro V engines. However, it is also backward compatible with Euro I, II and III engines.

In addition to the fuel economy benefits, Faure-Birchem points out that “lubricant manufacturers can save on storage, thanks to a very attractive treat rate and the use of the same additive for both SAE 10W-40 and SAE 10W-30 solutions. This is also true for fleet managers, as finished oil handling at workshops will be simplified since one lubricant is suitable for various generations of trucks.”

With OLOA 61005, the desired final formulation performance can be achieved with a smaller quantity of additive compared to the previous generation product. Moreover, a more cost-effective alternative to a full Group III base oil formulation is available, as Chevron Group II base oil can be blended into the formulation together with Group III base oils, providing greater base oil flexibility.

“OLOA 61005 offers lubricant companies flexibility and very competitive costs in blending and shipping,” summarizes Graham Fisher, Market Manager, AEO, Chevron Oronite.

OLOA 61005 is approved for ACEA E6-08#2 sequence along with top tier OEM claims. For more information on Oronite’s OLOA 61005 additive, please contact your local Oronite Account Manager or visit www.OLOA61005.com.
