ASTM International to host December workshop on petroleum products and lubricants
ASTM Internationals subcommittee on aviation fuels (D02.J) is sponsoring the Workshop on ASTM Standard D3241 Technical Issues, December 5, 2017, at the Mariott Marquis Houston, Texas, U.S.A. The workshop will take place in conjunction with the December standards development of ASTM committee on petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants (D02).
There are a number of technical issues surrounding the aspects of the ASTM Standard Test Method for Thermal Oxidation Stability of Aviation Turbine Fuels (D3241) that can affect potential decisions on how to change or improve the method. The purpose of this workshop is to bring the subcommittee and other interested parties up-to-speed regarding the technical issue.
Topics for this event include:
historic review of the origin and structure of standard D3241,
technical review of challenging issues,
detailed review of recent thermal stability issues, and
a discussion on the future of the standard.
Online registration will close on Nov. 29. Registration questions can be directed to Tessa Sulkes (see below). For technical information or questions, contact workshop chairman George Wilson ([email protected]) or co-chair Micki Overberg ([email protected]).
