Afton Chemical to Present “Bumper to Bumper Fuel Economy” at F & L Asia’s 19 th Annual Conference in Bangkok, Thailand
Richmond, VAx – Afton Chemical Corp. will present on the subject of “Bumper to Bumper Fuel Economy” at the 19th Annual F&L Conference in Bangkok, Thailand on March 14 th, 2013. By looking beyond driver influence, Dr. Ian Bell, will present a framework and supporting specialized tests that lead to advancements in measurable energy and fuel economy savings.
Dr. Bell’s presentation will include findings gained from the Afton-Artemis Continuous Aging Fuel Economy (AA-CAFÉ) test, which takes into account various energy-related factors, including: fuel quality and resulting engine cleanliness, fuel additive technology, transmission fluid performance profiles, and the stability of viscosity and friction modifiers in engine oils.
By approaching the topic of fuel economy from a ‘bumper to bumper’ perspective, Afton Chemical is able to apply energy savings projections to the existing, and new global car-parc. The knowledge gained from the AA-CAFÉ test offers actionable insights to hardware manufacturers and oil companiesas the global transportation industry works towards achieving evolving emission targets.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Ian Bell currently holds the position of Director of Engine Oils R&D, at Afton Chemical Corporation. With 17 years of experience in both technical and managerial roles, Bell made significant within the industry, having authored many patents and industry papers. Bell attained his Honors degree and Doctorate in chemistry from University of Edinburgh. He subsequently obtained his MBA at Oxford Brookes University.
