AFPM Appoints Vice President of Petrochemicals
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) today announced that Melissa Hockstad has joined the association as vice president of petrochemicals. Hockstad comes to AFPM as the association expands its petrochemical division.
“Melissa will lead AFPM’s petrochemical division at an exciting time as the industry plays an increasingly important role in strengthening the U.S. economy,” said AFPM President Charles T. Drevna. “AFPM has committed the resources necessary to build a petrochemical program that is capable of meeting the industry’s growing opportunities and Melissa is among the best.”
Hockstad brings to AFPM 17 years of in-depth industry experience, most recently as vice president of science, technology and regulatory affairs for the Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. and the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association, where she served as performance improvement director. She holds a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from the University of Virginia.
