ACDelco Philippines introduces dexos® motor oils to its product line

ACDelco Philippines has added dexos® motor oils to its lubricant product line. During the recently held Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), the company unveiled ACDelco dexos®1 Gen3 and ACDelco dexos®2 motor oils in the Philippines.

ACDelco is an American automotive parts brand owned by General Motors (GM). Factory parts for vehicles manufactured by GM are consolidated under the ACDelco brand, which also offers aftermarket parts for non-GM vehicles.

GM dexos®1 Gen 3, GM’s latest passenger car motor oil specification, is designed to meet the performance needs of GM vehicles. The specidication includes a more recent version of the stochastic pre-ignition (SPI) test, fuel economy test, and upgraded performance limits for deposit and sludge tests. There is some overlap with dexos®1 Gen 2 when compared to the latest industry standard, ILSAC GF-6, but dexos® Gen 3 still has enhanced oxidation, turbocharger protection and engine cleanliness. The mandatory transition date to dexos®1 Gen 3 was September 1, 2022.

GM dexos® 2 engine oils are Top Tier lubricants with lower sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulfur (SAPS), designed for use in high-performance gasoline and light-duty diesel engines where advanced aftertreatment systems such as diesel particulate filters (DPFs) are used.

General Motors licenses dexos® products that meet the dexos® specification.
