2014 China International Green Vehicle Forum – Event Report

The 2014 China International Green Vehicle Forum – Non Road Focus was successfully held in Shanghai, April 17-18. Since it is inaugurated in 2011, this forum has grown into a mainstream international forum in the industry. Over 80 machine, vehicle, and engine OEMs and 100+ suppliers, consulting firms, trade associations, government regulatory entities and medias attended the forum. Dr. Brian Sun, Chairman of Caterpillar China R&D Centers and the founding Chair of the forum, hosted this annual event.

Gwenne Henricks, Global VP and CTO of Caterpillar Inc. gave a speech regarding Green Technology for Non Road Vehicles. she introduced approach to fuel efficiency and successful experience of system integration. YIN Hang, Deputy Director, Policy Research Department of Vehicle Emission Control Center of MEP presented China Non-Road Mobile Source Emissions and Management. HOU Baojia, Secretary General of The Users Working Committee of CCMA, The Construction Machinery Committee of China Association for Quality introduced National “Twelve-Five” key project issues Technology Support Program “Green Construction Machinery Evaluation techniques and Database Research”, he stressed the importance of green construction and performance upgrades. CHEN Zhengli, Secretary General of China Construction Machinery Society Excavating Machinery Branch presented The Advantage and Future Trend of Energy Saving Hydraulic Excavator. The OEM Representatives like LUO Wei, Chief Director-Central Engineering of Liugong Group; TAO Haijun, Dean of Excavators Institute, Deputy General Manager of Sunward Intelligent Equipment; Casper Swart, Marketing Manager, Underground Rock Excavation of Altas Copco (Nanjing) Construction & Mining Equipment; Radim Dundalek, R&D/Development of Engines of ZETOR Tractors a.s.; Manlio Mattei, Manager R&D Engines of SAME DEUTZ-FAHR Group; Kevin Bailey, Manager China Engine Engineering of John Deere Power System introduced its energy saving products, electrification product line, approach to National Stage III and Future Stage IV, discussed how to meet the emission standard on the basis of cost control. The enterprise representatives, Eric Alstrom, Present and CEO of Danfoss Power Solutions introduced hydraulic products help on Non-Road sustainable environmental solutions. Renner Daniel, Team Leader Engine Calibration of Engineering Center Steyr stressed dual fuel potential to achieve EURO 6. Ulrich Pfahl, Vice President Business Development & Engineering of Emitec Emission Treatment System (Shanghai) Co., Ltd presented advanced emission treatment technology. Herbert Qi, General Manager of Altari Greater China introduced Intelligent Simulation Technology to Enhance the Ability of Green Vehicles Design.

WANG Shilong, Deputy Director of Jinan Auto Test Center introduced Non-Road National Stage III Emission Standard and Implementation date. SHI Ximin, Chief Representative of SwRI Beijing Office presented Technology Alternatives for Stage III Compliance. The Engine Manufacturers Representatives, LU Shouyu, P&E Development Department Manager of Yuchai Machinery Company, GONG Yingli, Combustion, Performance and Emissions Director Engineer of Weichai Power, Maarten Verkiel, General Manager of Perkins®400 Series Engine Facility in Wuxi, Harry Long, Sales Manager, Engines of Scania China discussed the opportunities and challenges of National Stage III, and learn from the experience of European Engine Manufacturers to promote the development of China’s overall level of engine technology.
