Alex, based in Shanghai, China, holds a degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. With over 28 years of experience in the lubricant and additive industries, Alex earned certification as a “Certified Machinery Lubrication Technician” by the International Council of Machinery Lubrication in 2006. Since joining Lubrizol in 2012, Alex has been developing e-driveline additive technologies for electric and hybrid vehicles. His expertise includes electric motor polymer material compatibility and hardware durability under specific operating conditions, while providing technical support to APAC customers.

Senior Manager, EOLCS/DEF, American Petroleum Institute

Bill has over 30 years of experience in the transportation lubricants industry. Since joining the American Petroleum Institute (API) in 2022, he has managed the Engine Oil Licensing Certification System (EOLCS) and the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Certification Program. Bill is also responsible for API’s Aftermarket Audit Program, testing engine oils and DEF samples from global markets to ensure conformance with standards.

She also chairs the Asian Lubricants Industry Association Council and the Sustainability Subcommittee, promoting diversity and inclusion within her organization.

Emmanuelle began her career at the French Institute of Petroleum and later transitioned to Chevron Oronite, where she has spent over 25 years. Emmanuelle has held various roles in product management, technical support, and sales. Since 2022, she has managed Chevron Oronite’s global product line for automotive lubricant additives, overseeing a team focused on viscosity modifiers and small-engine oils.

Jorge is based in Shanghai, China, and has been with Lubrizol for over 26 years. Jorge’s expertise lies in developing energy-efficient industrial oils and supporting market upgrades in China.

Research Professor, Osaka Metropolitan University

Yasuaki holds a PhD from the Tokyo Institute of Technology and has over 50 years of experience in applied chemistry and environmental engineering. His contributions to environmental chemistry have earned him numerous awards, including recognition from the Japan Society of Environmental Chemistry. Yasuaki has also served as an expert with Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

Thomas has more than 20 years of experience in global technical and commercial roles within the chemical industry. His focus on automotive and industrial lubricants aligns with his commitment to greater resource efficiency and sustainability. Thomas has lived and worked on three continents and currently resides in Singapore, leading automotive initiatives for Evonik Oil Additives.

Cary, appointed vice president of Commercial at Chevron Oronite in July 2023, has been with Chevron since 1990. He began his career through Chevron’s Fuels MBA Development Program and has held senior positions, including Vice President of Americas Marketing Fuels, Global Base Oils, and America’s Finished Lubricants. Cary holds a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Oregon State University, bringing over three decades of commercial expertise to his current role.

Michael is the president of 5th Order Industry, where he offers expertise in failure analysis, reliability engineering, and experimental design. With 40 years of experience, Michael has held research and engineering roles at Olin Chemical, WR Grace, Rohm & Haas, GE Plastics, NCH, ALS, and SGS. He holds 16 professional certifications, a patent, and advanced degrees in Polymer Engineering and Chemistry. Additionally, he has authored 12 books and been cited extensively in industry publications and academic research. He holds an MS in Polymer Engineering, a BS in Chemistry, and a BA in Philosophy.

With over five years of experience in research and development, she has focused on transmission oils, EV oils, and cooling oils for OEMs. In her current role, Mayuko leads new business initiatives, leveraging her technical background and strategic insight to explore emerging technologies and industry opportunities, driving innovation within ENEOS.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University and has spent the last decade contributing to Intertek’s technical leadership.

Dennis serves as a Senior Engineer in the EOLCS Program at API. His experience spans lubricant development, engine testing, additive package development, and product line management. He has previously worked with General Electric, Teledyne Continental Motors, and Fairbanks Morse/SEMT Pielstick, setting lubricant standards and developing tests to assess engine oils for gasoline and diesel engines. Currently, Dennis plays a key role in maintaining the API 1509 Engine Oil Standard and advancing new standards for passenger car and heavy-duty engine oils. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin Madison.

Mike is the Business Development Director at CQA, an organization focused on quality control and licensing programs. He identifies and facilitates new initiatives, such as the International Fluids Consortium (IFC) and the NLGI’s High-Performance Multiuse (HPM) grease certification program. Mike also contributed to the Top Tier™ Approved Fuels program. Before joining CQA in 2013, he worked across several industries, including transportation, construction, and semiconductors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan.

With a career beginning at Toyota Motors, Jackie joined Afton in 2012 and has since played a vital role in delivering technical solutions for passenger and commercial driveline sectors, particularly focusing on automotive transmission fluids.

Sathyam is an Assistant Manager Research in the Automotive Oils Department at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., R&D Centre in Faridabad, India. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, focusing on bio-lubricant synthesis, and completed postdoctoral work on ionic liquids as lubricant additives. Since joining Indian Oil Corporation in 2017, Sathyam has developed automotive oil formulations, published extensively, and presented at international conferences.

Sahkundiyar is a seasoned professional in the downstream energy sector with expertise in hydroprocessing, process safety, sustainability, and biofuels. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from Institut Teknologi Bandung in Indonesia. Since 2019, he has led major projects at Pertamina, including the first HVO production trial and the Cilacap green refinery start-up. Currently, he oversees sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production initiatives aimed at making Pertamina the first Southeast Asian company to commercialize SAF.

A committed member of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) since the early 1980s, Kevin has held numerous leadership roles, including as STLE Vice President, contributing extensively to the society and industry at large.

Mansi is a seasoned leader with more than 25 years of experience across diverse industries and global markets. In her current role, she manages a USD2.5 billion portfolio and oversees Shell’s presence in India, which includes 13,000 employees and a USD3 billion turnover. Mansi also serves on the boards of Hankook Shell (South Korea), JOSLOC (Saudi Arabia), and MRPL Aviation. A strong advocate for gender balance, Mansi mentors more than 7,000 professionals in the Shell Women’s Network.

Recognized for her leadership, Mansi received the F&L Asia Person of the Year Award in 2024 and the Executive of the Year Award from Singapore Business Review in 2022. She has also been honored as one of India’s fastest-rising women leaders. Mansi has held key positions at Procter & Gamble and led Shell Lubricants India as Managing Director. With a strong commitment to decarbonization, she continues to make strides in brand building, market growth, and talent development.

She holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from NIT Kurukshetra and an MBA in Marketing from S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research. Passionate about fitness, Mansi has completed more than 50 marathons, enjoys Indian classical dance, and mentors students globally.

Guoru is a senior expert at Sinopec Lubricant Co., Ltd., specializing in the R&D and application of transmission fluids for electric vehicles. She founded the NEV Fluid Innovation Studio at Sinopec, focusing on lubricant technologies for new energy vehicles. Since joining Sinopec in 2006, Guoru has developed standards for various gear and transmission oils, including heavy-duty vehicle gear oils and agricultural machinery lubricants. She is an active member of the China Europe Association’s Gear Transmission Industry Expert Committee and serves as an expert advisor for the Ministry of Science and Technology at Sinopec.

Automotive Oil R&D Group Manager, ENEOS Corporation

Yasushi is the Automotive Oil R&D Group Manager at ENEOS Corporation in Japan, where he leads the development of automotive lubricants, including engine oils, motorcycle oils, and transmission fluids. With more than 20 years of experience, Yasushi specializes in drivetrain oils and tribology. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Leeds, where he researched additive mechanisms in Continuously Variable Transmission Fluids, and a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tokyo.
