Evonik announces leadership changes in lubricant additives business
Germany’s Evonik Oil Additives has announced key leadership appointments as part of its strategy to strengthen its global lubricant additives business. As of February, Dr. Thomas Schimmel has assumed the role of vice president of the Asia-Pacific Region, taking over from Maggie Lu, who has been appointed vice president of the newly established Lubricant Additives product line.
Schimmel brings more than 20 years of experience in global technical and commercial roles within the chemical industry. He is committed to leveraging his extensive technological expertise and deep market knowledge to drive Evonik’s engagement in the Asia-Pacific lubricant market. His priorities include enhancing the company’s ability to meet the diverse and evolving needs of customers in the region through high-performance products, robust supply chains, and advanced application technology.
Lu’s new role as vice president of the Lubricant Additives product line marks a significant step in Evonik’s business strategy. With years of experience as regional head of APAC and extensive expertise in sales and business development, she will lead the company’s lubricant additives division on a global scale. By consolidating the former Automotive and Industrial product lines into a single Lubricant Additives business unit, Lu aims to unlock new market potential. Her focus will be on driving innovation in Evonik’s Oil Additives portfolio while enhancing customer-oriented technical services across existing and emerging applications worldwide.
These leadership changes reflect Evonik’s commitment to reinforcing its position in the global lubricant additives sector by strengthening its strategic focus and operational excellence.
