ALIA Virtual Annual Meeting: Life Cycle Assessment of an Efficient Hydraulic Fluid
Timezone: Asia/Singapore
Event Time: 2021-09-22 3:00 PM to 2021-09-22 4:00 PM
Presented by Tan Kien-Wee, Ben
Technical Director, Asia Pacific region – Evonik Oil Additives AP Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
A life cycle assessment (LCA) is a quantitative measure that allows comparison of different lubricants with regards to their environmental impacts and carbon footprint.
This webinar will explain the LCA study performed for an industry average monograde hydraulic fluid and an efficient multigrade hydraulic fluid to compare the two systems along the full life cycle, including its use phase. Modern and innovative high-performance lubricants demonstrate environmental benefits in the use phase, which is not included in standard cradle-to-gate LCAs.
This presentation will also highlight the critical elements needed to ensure comparability, as well as key elements to be considered for the validity of such a comparison.
