Emery Oleochemicals launches Green Polymer Additives lab in Rayong
Emery Oleochemicals, a leader in natural-based specialty chemicals, has significantly expanded its global product development capabilities with the opening of a new state-of-the-art application laboratory in Rayong, Thailand. This new facility is strategically housed within the PTT Technology and Innovation Center, leveraging a partnership with one of its key shareholders, PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTGC), one of Thailand’s largest petrochemical and refining companies.
Located in a region known for its robust industrial growth, the new Technical Development Center will cater to the burgeoning demands of the Green Polymer Additives (GPA) business across Asia. The laboratory is set to deliver innovative and renewable polymer additive solutions across a diverse range of industries, including automotive, building and construction, electronics, packaging, and even toys and sports equipment.
This expansion enhances Emery Oleochemicals’ ability to provide regional support and value-added services to its GPA customers. The Rayong lab complements the company’s existing Global Technical Development Centers located in Loxstedt, Germany, and Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.
The lab’s capabilities are extensive, with facilities for the development of custom LOXIOL® lubricants, release agents, surface finish agents, and EDENOL® plasticizers. It is equipped to handle formulation and application testing for both rigid and flexible PVC, as well as engineering polymers and polyolefins. These capabilities are designed to meet the technical needs of various market segments, ranging from building and construction to medical applications.
Equipped with advanced testing equipment such as a planetary mixer, twin roller mill, heat press, twin screw extruder, and plastograph, the laboratory is well-prepared to tackle the most demanding technical challenges faced by the industry today. This initiative marks a significant milestone in Emery Oleochemicals’ commitment to innovation and sustainability within the chemicals industry.
