DowPol launches ultra-high viscosity synthetic base oil

DowPol Chemical International Corp., based in Shanghai, China, has unveiled DowSyn V2000, an ultra-high viscosity metallocene polyalphaolefin (mPAO) synthetic base oil. With a viscosity of 2000 cSt at 100°C, this product is designed to meet the demands of high-performance industrial and lubricant applications.

DowSyn V2000, produced using proprietary metallocene catalyst technology, offers exceptional thickening efficiency, shear stability, and thermo-oxidative resistance, according to the company. The product is particularly suitable for formulating lubricants, engine oils, and greases, enabling extended performance in extreme temperature conditions.

The product serves as a viscosity index improver (VII) in engine oils, delivering superior stability and efficiency for long drain intervals. In addition to its lubricant applications, DowSyn V2000 can enhance processability in rubber, resins, and other industrial materials requiring resistance to heat, cold, and volatility.
