
Dobson is new CEO and lead country manager for ExxonMobil India
Monte Dobson has been appointed CEO and lead country manager at ExxonMobil India. He succeeds Bill Davis, who served as CEO and lead country manager for ExxonMobil India for more than four years. Davis will move to Houston, Texas, U.S.A., to assume a new role in ExxonMobil’s global LNG business.

Dobson was a technology manager for unconventional resources at ExxonMobil’s Upstream Integrated Solutions business from April 2019 to August 2021. He was senior VP for Development at ExxonMobil subsidiary XTO Energy Inc., which principally operates in North America, specializing in the drilling and production of unconventional oil and natural gas assets, from August 2016 to March 2019.
He joined ExxonMobil in 1994, after obtaining his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He obtained his MS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1991, and his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a BA in Physics from the Centenary College of Louisiana in 1989.
ExxonMobil has offices in India in Bengaluru, Mumbai and the National Capital Region. ExxonMobil’s downstream business engages in the distribution, sales and marketing of Mobil-branded lubricants and specialties. The chemicals business provides market development support, analytical and reporting services. It also conducts chemical product application support services and product testing support at its technology center in Bengaluru. The upstream business provides consulting and LNG market development support services for other ExxonMobil upstream affiliates. The business support center/technical support center provides a range of support services for ExxonMobil’s operations around the globe.
