Chevron names Laura Lane chief corporate affairs officer

Chevron Corporation has announced the appointment of Laura Lane as vice president and chief corporate affairs officer, effective 1 February 2025. Based in Houston, Texas, U.S.A., Lane will oversee the company’s global corporate affairs, including government relations, communications, and social investment strategies.

Lane succeeds Al Williams, who is set to retire in April after a distinguished 34-year career with Chevron. Mike Wirth, chairman and CEO, expressed gratitude for Williams’ extensive contributions, stating, “I’m grateful to Al for the contributions he’s made to Chevron’s success over the course of his career. Al has been an accomplished leader in Upstream, Downstream, Midstream, and as a corporate officer.”

Lane brings a wealth of experience from both public and private sectors. Previously, she served as executive vice president and chief corporate affairs and sustainability officer at UPS, with prior leadership roles at Citigroup and Time Warner. Lane also has a background in diplomacy, having served as a foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State and held a senior role at the U.S. Trade Representative’s office.

Lane holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago.

Chevron, a leading integrated energy company, is committed to advancing affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions. Lane’s appointment underscores Chevron’s focus on strengthening its corporate affairs strategy in line with its broader energy and sustainability goals.
