Chemetall opens global aluminum competence center in Italy
Chemetall, the surface treatment business of BASF’s Coatings division, announced the opening of its new Global Aluminum Competence Center in Giussano, Italy on February 13th.
The state-of-the-art facility centralizes Chemetall’s R&D and application expertise to strengthen its position as a leading aluminum surface solutions provider globally.
By consolidating competencies and accelerating development, the center aims to deliver transformative innovations solving industry challenges. “It will allow faster launches of new technologies meeting diverse customer and market needs,” said SVP Frank Naber.
The team of 15 experts will focus on pretreatments and finishing process solutions for the lightweight yet complex material. “In collaboration with partners, we’ll set new standards fulfilling strict industry quality benchmarks,” said Chemetall Director and Head of Global Technology Arjan Termaten.
As economies require lighter, more sustainable materials, the facility cements Chemetall’s capabilities in unlocking aluminum’s potential across sectors through chemistry.
