Castrol launches new engine oil designed for Fiat engines
Castrol has launched a new formulation of its passenger car engine lubricant, MAGNATEC, that has been designed to meet the specific needs of Fiat GS1 and DS1-compatible engines.
“This new customised MAGNATEC formulation is designed for use in all Fiat models with GS1 and DS1-compatible engines. Castrol’s long association with Fiat is further strengthened with this new product, enabling more car owners to benefit from the superior engine protection that Castrol MAGNATEC provides,” said Shailendra Gupte, marketing director at Castrol Europe.
Castrol MAGNATEC 0W-30 GS1/DS1 is designed for use across all Fiat petrol and diesel vehicles where Fiat recommends an ACEA C2 or earlier specification 0W-30 lubricant. ACEA C2 oils are Top Tier mid- SAPS ((Sulphated Ash, Phosphorous and Sulphur) lubricants. They are designed for use in high-performance gasoline and light-0duty diesel engines where advanced aftertreatment systems such as diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and three-way catalysts (TWC) are used.
Castrol MAGNATEC 0W-30 GS1/DS1 features a unique, patented DUALOCK Technology that provides car engines with 50% better protection from warm-up wear and re-start wear, the company said. The new product is the first Castrol engine oil to meet Fiat 9.55535-GS1 and Fiat 9.55535-DS1 specifications.
Fiat GS1 and DS1-compatible engines are available in the following vehicle models: Fiat Panda and 500, Jeep Compass and Jeep Renegade, and Alfa Romeo Mito.
Stellantis recently announced that Fiat’s Tafraoui – Oran plant in Algeria will be completed by August 2023 and that the production for the first Fiat 500 is planned by the end of 2023. By 2026, the plant will produce 90,000 vehicles per year, including the iconic Fiat 500, which will be available as a hybrid vehicle, the first hybrid vehicle in Algeria.
