Castrol India to close Wadala technology centre

Castrol India has decided to permanently close its Wadala, Mumbai facility, in the state of Maharashtra, subject to statutory compliances as may be applicable.

The company’s Global Lubricant Technology Centre is housed in Wadala, where it provides R&D support to the business. Castrol India is the second largest lubricant company in India and is the market leader in the automotive lubricant segment. The closure will not have any impact on the company’s financial performance or its operations. The company does not carry out any production or manufacturing activity at the Wadala facility.

The decision whether to relocate the technology centre to a different location will be made in due course, after a thorough evaluation.
