Veolia Holds Educational Events for Students and Representatives Across the Midwest

Local schools and city leadership invited to
participate in interactive STEM showcases

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Veolia North America hosted Central Doors Open on Thursday, the first
of a series of events in several locations aimed at encouraging middle-
and high- school students to participate in STEM (science, technology,
engineering and mathematics) activities.

Several local lawmakers participated in the events, held at wastewater
treatment plants (WWTPs) and across the Midwest in states including
Kansas, Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas, where recent innovations in the use
and conservation of city utilities were highlighted.

Many of the water and energy facilities offered interactive educational
programs, where students visited sites and participated in ÔÇ£Water BoxÔÇØ
activities designed to promote the understanding and importance of
returning waste products safely to the environment.

In Oklahoma City, Veolia partnered with Redlands Community College and
the local Canadian Valley Technology Center for a career day event
focusing on STEM education and career paths. In Texas and Ohio, Veolia
hosted open houses for new local government representatives and city
employees to increase understanding of advancements in energy and
environmental technology, as well as the vital role public private
partnerships play in managing municipal utilities.
