UGI Corporation Hosts STEM Scholars

VALLEY FORGE, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–UGI Corporation and UGI Energy Services, a subsidiary of UGI
Corporation, recently hosted students from the Franklin Institute’s STEM
(science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Scholars Program for
a tour of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Plant in Temple, Pennsylvania.
The tour was a component of the STEM Scholars Program’s hands-on
educational program, which includes workshops, site visits and
presentations from professionals working in the STEM fields. UGI
Corporation has been a strong supporter of the Franklin Institute’s STEM
Scholars Program, providing financial resources, as well as employee
volunteers who provide workshops supporting STEM Scholars.

The Franklin Institute STEM Scholars program is a four-year program for
Philadelphia students, which immerses students into science, technology,
engineering and mathematics career experiences, college preparation, and
research opportunities. The goals of the program include increasing
college matriculation in STEM disciplines, graduation rates, and entry
into the workforce post-graduation.

students in grades 9-12, who are passionate about STEM subjects. For
