  • DOW
    FILMTEC™ FORTILIFE™
    reverse osmosis (RO) elements transform
wastewater into pure water and pure salts for reuse at approximately
60 percent lower cost than thermal treatment. The three new reverse
osmosis element designs, FORTILIFE™ CR100, XC70 and XC80, are equipped
to tackle challenging biological and organic fouling encountered when
recovering up to 95 percent of pure water from wastewater. With
fouling resistant technology, the reliability and lifetime of these
elements are significantly improved over standard RO
    elements. Additionally, the innovative ion-separation FORTILFE™ XC-N
element enables recovery of purified, reusable salts, such as sodium
chloride, from wastewater containing complex salt mixtures.
  • ROPAQUE™
    NT-2900 Opaque Polymer
for BLUE 4EST™ Thermal Paper replaces
conventional thermal paper, eliminating chemical developers and
removing chemicals of concern from production. The new paper uses
engineered reflective polymer spheres that collapse when heated by the
thermal print head allowing underlying color to show. The paper is
compatible with existing equipment and, as an added bonus, creates
images that do not fade with time.
  • VORAGUARD™
    high resiliency flame-retarded polyurethane
    enables
halogenated flame retardant free polyurethane foams with ultra-low
emissions for bedding and furniture. It was developed to eliminate
halogenated flame retardants from polyurethane foam formulations and
still pass severe fire safety standards. In addition, VORAGUARD-based
foams have very low VOCs and odor and thereby improve indoor air
    quality for the consumer.

Dow Building & Construction’s ECOGROUND™ Waterborne Acrylic
Binder System for green athletic tracks and playgrounds was also
named a finalist.
