Women Voters and Operation Free, launch an interactive U.S. Clean
Energy Progress Map, the first non-partisan public resource of this
    scale.
  • The map is a comprehensive resource that compiles economic benefits
of solar, wind and energy efficiency.

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CleanEnergyProgress–A coalition of partners today launched the U.S.
Clean Energy Progress Map
, a comprehensive, dynamic tool that shows
the economic impact of clean energy growth across the country. The map
is a non-partisan, free-to-use public resource that captures investments
and jobs in the U.S. wind, solar and energy efficiency industries.
Backed by a diverse array of partners, including Alliance to Save
Energy, League of Women Voters, the BlueGreen Alliance and Operation
Free, among others, the map presents users with data from established
industry sources and examines the economic contribution of clean energy
from the national level down to the state voting district. Equipped with
economic data, map users, including citizens, advocates and
policymakers, can understand how investments in energy projects impact
the local, state and national economy and make informed decisions about
energy policies.

“In 2018, every level of government is facing decisions that will shape
the future of our country’s energy landscape,” said Kateri Callahan,
President of Alliance to Save Energy. “Current conversations around
traditional energy sources focus on job creation and the economy.
However, when discussing the economic potential of energy efficiency and
renewables the same opportunities are seldom presented. This map serves
an essential purpose – to empower citizens, and their political
representatives, with a better understanding of the energy landscape and
the economic impact of clean energy investment down to the local level.”

Built by Kevala Inc., the U.S. Clean Energy Progress Map consolidates
current, credible, and publicly available data on the clean energy
sector. The map’s geographic granularity can show users the total impact
of clean energy investments, jobs and projects from the national level
down to the congressional district. The data will be updated
semiannually to ensure users can evaluate the most current renewable
energy environment.

"The clean energy economy is connected to economic growth,” said Aram
Shumavon, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kevala. “This map helps
illuminate that connection by combining jobs data across solar, wind and
energy efficiency technologies, quantifying real economic impacts for
geographies across the entire United States.”
