NEM Marks 20th Anniversary Year with Expansion to New West Coast Office

NEM Positioned to Lead Western Retail Energy Choice Initiatives

WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The National Energy Marketers Association (NEM) is pleased to announce
that it will be expanding to include its current Washington, DC location
as well as a new West Coast office in Nevada this summer, marking
another milestone in the Associationโ€™s 20th Anniversary year.
โ€œTwenty years ago, NEM was founded on the mission of ensuring that the
benefits of retail competition reach even the smallest residential
consumer. NEM is eager to continue this mission in regulatory advocacy
efforts across the country,โ€ said Craig Goodman, President of NEM.

NEMโ€™s western expansion highlights the resurgence of retail choice
activity in California, Nevada and other states. โ€œWhat makes the current
movement to expand the availability of retail choice in the Western
states so exciting is that it is a consumer-driven response to the
Energy Technology Revolution. Consumers of all sizes are demanding
access to an ever-expanding array of energy product and service choices
to suit individual needs and preferences, not just plain vanilla utility
service. NEM will be on the ground to participate in these
groundbreaking efforts,โ€ Goodman added.

NEM will also be convening a Western Energy Policy Summit on October
23-25, 2017
, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Leading policy and
industry thought leaders will be convening at the Summit to identify and
discuss strategies for the successful expansion of retail choice in
Nevada and California and elsewhere.
