MHI and MHPS Pledge Support to Those Affected by the Earthquakes in Mexico

TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI)(TOKYO:7011) and Mitsubishi
Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd. (MHPS) express their sincere condolences to
the people who were affected by the earthquakes that occurred off the
southern coast of Mexico on September 7, and in the central part of
Mexico on September 19.

MHI and MHPS have decided to jointly provide support totaling 1 million
Mexican pesos to help the many people affected and to assist in the
rebuilding of affected areas.

The MHI Group has a track record of delivering equipment to facilities
in Mexico such as thermal power plants, geothermal power plants, and
ethylene production plants, and has established a close relationship
with the country through its various business activities.

The MHI Group hopes for the earliest possible reconstruction of the
affected areas and will continue to provide support going forward.
